Kairi had to laugh. "Oh aye, I remember. Tha' was the day I told 'im I wasn' gunna marry 'im." She said, laughing. "And ye came along right before the argumen' was abou' ta begin." She smiled, then looked at the other lass. "I'm real glad yer on th' crew, lass. I've bin lookin' fer another lass ta talk to, abou' Lekeb an' all." she smiled

“That’s good then, ah’m glad ah could be of service. Ah’m always here to talk tae ye. Ah had a few things tae get me mind off ah.” She smiled softly as she closed the sketchbook. Her brother Lip was fixated on Kairi, Debbie had nearly hit him a load of times already to tell him to stop it.

Kairi smiled. "Ye mean Will, don' ye?" She asked. It was a painful topic for Debbie, she knew, but she wondered if Debbie knew what had happened between him and Elizabeth. The Irish lass sighed, and brought her knees to her chin, and smiled lightly

She sighed. “Ye know me tae well.” She sighed as she looked down. “Ah think its mostly because ah had ma chance an’ blew it.” Actually, her father blew it by not letting her stay. It would have been worse if her father knew it was for a blacksmith at the time. “But as long as he’s happy, Ah guess ah’ll have tae be. Especially after his wedding to Elizabeth.” Where Elizabeth was also a friend of hers. It was sometimes too hard to handle but she was getting through it.

“What now? Is Lizzie with child?” She asked as that seemed to be the only thing that it could have been. “Ah really dinnae know if ah want tae know this.” She sighed as she ran her hand to her hair messing it up for it only to fall down once again.

"No. Debbie, they didn't marry. He was too worried about...you." She said, holding out a letter to her. "William wrote that a few weeks ago, and sent it to me."

It was obvious that what she was told shocked Debbie as she looked as if it was a joke but being handed a letter she knew it was not because she knew William’s penmanship very well. She knew it straight away actually. It was one thing her father had taught her to do. Her fingers struggled to open it but she did. She had to read the letter. Her light misty blue eyes started on the first line.

~Debbie - I just want to begin this letter by relaying to you that I am extremely sorry about everything that happened after you moved away. I guess..I guess I thought that because you moved, we would lost contact with each other. Now I realize I was a fool to try and forget someone like you. Sure, I did love Elizabeth, but I loved you so much more. Please forgive me. What I did was wrong, and I regret letting you go.
I wrote this and mailed it to Kairi because I knew she could get it to you without difficulty. The next port I believe the Black Bolt stops at is Port Royale, so please, meet me there. I am looking forward to laying eyes on you again, Miss Deborah, and I hope you remain here in England, with me.
Signed, William Turner [/i]

She nearly dropped the letter. Her eyes blinked a few times as she looked up to Kairi. “It is by his pen.” Her eyes could have started to water but she did not care. This was the answer to Debbie’s prayers – all down written and signed by the one her heart belonged to. Her heart almost missed a beat. Remain in England with him…

"Ye know something, Ah'd really like that." She smiled softly as she gave Kairi a hug. This was perfect, she had nearly felt happier - except for that day she actually met Kairi. That was fun on its own accord.
