Kaito just smiled at her, looking back at the guards who came closer to them. Now... all I have to do is work on my accent! I mean... 'me' accent. He stood still, watching the guard's movements tentively ,"Ho... ho... ho! Merry Ch- I mean... urr... Ye! What 'dja need, ye foolish youth!" he slowly and coarsely coughed, attempting to sound like a sick, old man ,".... ba! We must b' on our way! We don' need some 'f ye foolish nonsense!" Kaito continued, swinging one arm around dramatically.
"Have ye seen some 'suspicious' rats 'round?!" the other guard scorned, patting the captive on the shoulder, waiting for an answer.

Phoenix shivered nervously and spun around knocking his hand away. "Kindly keep your hands off of me," she spat in a very dignified way. "We haven't seen anyone come through here. My grandfather, he is very tired. We were just on our way home when you so rudely stopped us." She staped on his booted foot with her bare one. The captive cringed in pain from a cut on her foot.
"Come on, da's waiting for us," Phoenix gave Kaito a gentle push past the gaurd.

"Aye, ze only suspicious goofs are ye rascals! BA! Foolish youths! No respect for th' elders!" Kaito coughed once more, throwing his fist lazily at the pirates and slowly walked away when Phoenix gently pushed him. Ah, my accent was a little off. Maybe they will actually buy it... he smiled through the fabric, carefully trying not to look over his shoulders or else he might blow their cover.
"D***." the guard mumbled, looking around ,"... did we lose 'em?!" "Bloody idiot! Look! Don' they look suspicious?!" the other guard scowled, pointing at the captive and Kaito. "Or maybe... we are the suspicious ones..." the guard stupidly replied. "Ah, good point... should we arrest ourselves?" the other guard stupidly questioned.
Kaito softly giggled at their stupidity. ... and I thought they were actually suspicious of us. he cheekily grinned, wondering how long they would have to keep up the disguise. Where are we heading, anyways? Kaito pondered, lifting his head a little.

"Let's just head back to the ship," Phoenix sighed "We're safe there." She smiled sadly, but hid it from him. The captive walked infront of Kaito briskly. She held her head high and bit back tears of sadness. This could have been my only chance. Or maybe I'm just a foolish girl with no hope of ever going home. Phoenix thought bitterly. Their stupidity was pretty funny. I'm not sure Kaito was used to making up stories on the spot. But it was alright, we didn't get caught.

"The ship?" Kaito questioned, checking if the guards were following before pulling off the fabric. He smiled at her, laughing lightly ,"... I thought you wanted to escape." he softly mumbled, trying not to bump into any person as he walked through the crowd of people ,"We can find someone who can take you home, I'm sure of it." Kaito implied with a wry smile; he wondered what she was thinking about at this very moment.

"This place is full of lowlifes. I'd rather not be stuck with anyone I'll regret. The ship is much safer until we stop at a more dignified port," Phoenix replied standing tall. She approached the dock and pulled off the black cloak. It seemed perfect to tie into a shirt and skirt for herslef.
The captive climbed up onto the ship and walked to the railing. Phoenix held it tightly and let the wind rush through her short blonde hair. The smell of salt filled her nostrils. Pure, untainted, sea salt made her smiled. The captive held her hand out for Kaito's disguise.

"Yeah, I guess you are right." Kaito shrugged, slowly walking on the dock of the port and glanced up at the sky; it would be a while before the crew members would come back from the bar. The birds here are so... free. Unlike me, I am chained to the land and sea. he grinned, tilting his pirate hat as he hopped onto the Black Bolt.
Kaito glanced at Phoenix, smiling warmly at her. I wonder how much longer she can take by staying as a captive. he dryly thought in concern ,"Soo... where do you live?" Kaito randomly asked, making sure there were no other people on board the ship.

"I lived in Denmark," Phoenix replied dreamily. She stared out at the roiling ocean and the birds flying over it. The captive wanted to swim in the water. She hadn't done it in so long. We're headed for the Isle of Merced next. I know they have some hot springs there. Maybe they'll let me bask in them for a while. Her smile seemed to fade into a blank stare. Nothing was going on around her. All she could think of was home.

Kaito smiled and nodded tentively as he leaned against the edge of the ship; he had no real friends, all he had was just normal friends - friends he can only to talk to without opening up his whole heart. He softly laughed, covering his face with his hat, all he could see was pitch black. Each step is like taking a step into shattered glass, burning my feet no matter how long I stand or walk. No one's going to pick up the pieces. No one. Not even I can do it...
The seventeen year-old boy peeked out of his hat, stealing a glance from Phoenix. Denmark? I wonder how will I be able to help her escape... he could feel and hear his conscience argue with him about even helping a captured captive. Kaito shook his head, throwing his hat into the air, letting it fly away throw the wind ,"Haha, I guess we should enjoy this time before anything worse picks up~!"
I'd rather be a captive here than going back to my home...

"What happened to you?" Phoenix asked. She knew he didn't like to talk about it. Although she hoped he'd open up a little to her. The captive didn't have anyone to tell his secrets to. So they'd be safe with her no matter what. The sixteen year old felt the wind pick up and wrapped the cloth around her bare shoulders. She didn't turn to face him, just stood hoping no one elses would return too quickly.

Kaito wasn't surprised by the fact she had asked, he knew he had to face the question some time soon. He didn't know if he felt comfortable telling her or not ,"Uhm.... it's something that I can't erase easily. Something that I want to forget... completely." he swallowed hard, feeling kind of guilty for not telling her, especially when she helped him escape those two guards.
Why can't I tell her? It's hard.... to take that one step... just that one step. Kaito had no problem trusting her, but the words just couldn't come out the way he wanted it to.

Phoenix hadn't turned to face him yet. Her eyes were closed into the window. "Keeping it bottled makes it worse," she said. Suddenly the captive turned to him eyes wide open. "You can tell me." The simple phrase didn't seem enough. How could anyone trust her when she trusted no one. Phoenix only said the bare minimum at any time.
Phoenix understood how hard it was to open up to people. She had the problem all the time. No real friends or family around to keep her safe.

I know, but... I can't bring myself to say it. I can't step on shattered glass or else it'll... harm me. Kaito carefully thought, looking up at the high clouds with a peaceful expression. Half of him told him not to even dare tell or, while the other half just didn't know what step to take. Forever chained to the ground? Or... will I take that one step? he shook his head, taking a deep sigh as he prepared himself for the dive.
"I lived a happy life with pirates, my older brother trained me to the extreme, but... strangely, I was fine with it. I was happy." Kaito grinned, laughing lightly as he scratched his head; his cheerful demeanor soon faded away as he continued ,"... but then, one day... my brother ordered the crew to kill me. I fought back, of course. And... I won. Blood was all over me. I-I... it's hard to think about it."
Kaito took a deep breathe once again before swallowing ,"... I found out my brother's cruel intentions and forced me into a cage. I lived in a cage for two years, doing whatever my brother demanded." he added in, skipping how his other side had formed ,"... yeah. One night, I was told to go steal from a rich family; I did, but then I figured... if I get caught, I can... finally escape. Haha... funny thing is, I did get caught and was sent to a bigger cage - prison. I escaped prison and here I am now. My brother is looking for me, and the people who captured me into prison are looking for me. I'm a wanted person."

"I see," Phoenix said. She felt terrible for him, but it was impossible for her to show her emotions. The captive wanted to hug him, and tell him it would be okay. But she didn't know if it would be okay, and bodily contact still made her uneasy. Phoenix swallowed hard, it was a soar subject, but part of her wanted more information. "Don't Lekeb and the crew protect you? I could help to, I can use a sword."
A good fight would get my anger out. Blood is definetly not my strong point, but one less pirate in the world is a cause for celebration. She thought happily. Even though Kaito is so nice. It's not his fault he's a wanted man. If I ever get the chance I'll kill his treacherous brother.

"Don't Lekeb and the crew protect you? I could help to, I can use a sword."
Kaito gave a wry smile and shook his head ,"No. I don't even think they know about my little problem, you are the first person I have told this to, anyways." he softly chuckled as he took a short glance at the captive before returning his sight to the sky. If Lekeb finds out that I am wanted... would she want me out of the Black Bolt? Kaito wondered to himself, vacantly staring at nothing in particular.
"-... b-but, don't get the wrong idea! I-I love my brother! H-He isn't that bad... well, if... you don't get him angry, that is." The seventeen year-old murmured. Then again, he's always angry. the memories of being whipped came to him. He cringed, remembering how the feeling of the whip was like against his skin.
