[Um yeah, this is my audition post!]
She stood there on the ship with her hat nearly blowing off of her head of beautiful silky strands of hair. She sighed as she held the paintbrush in her hand. Deborah Cochrane looked up to the clear sky as she wiped sweat away from her forehead. Debbie sighed once more as she wondered what to do right now as the heat started to make her blood boil. She was lucky as yet her past was not revealed to anyone on the ship but she knew that would not be for long…
”Ah swear, anym’re o’ this and ah’ll throw meself oorboard.” The heat was getting to the young lady. The nineteen year old was obviously not born to the sea. She was born to be a great member of the royal society but did not care to return to it after loosing the one thing she held dear to her. Running the paintbrush against the ship’s boards she looked around for any sign of life. It was very early in the morning and many were sleeping.

The captain stood at the wheel guiding the ship gently and carefully watching as the waves barely even startled, besides the ship moving through with ease. She sighed rubbing head keeping hat firmly on there. "Wha' an even'n....." She murmured as she looked around the deck to make sure there was peace and noticed the young girl. She tilted her head and leaped down walking over looking around. "Wha're ye doin' alo'n lass....?" She watched her.

“To be honest, ah jus’ cannae sleep. Ain’t tired enough.” She sighed softly as she looked to her captain. “Ever’one else are sleepin’.” The young girl brushed strands away from her pale skinned cheeks as she placed the paintbrush back into the paint bucket, hoping she would not get a row for repainting the barriers. Debbie sighed as she looked up to the sky. “Besides, it’s a braw sky. Why would anyun, wanna miss it?”

Kairi walked out of the captain's quarter's a little while after Lekeb, and spotted the other girl. "Debbie!" She said quietly, walking over to the other girl

Her name… yes she would give her royal name. She had no need to lie to her captain. Moving her head to the sky once more she smiled softly remembering as Will used to make up silly nicknames for her name to see if one would fit. “Ma name is Deborah Cochrane.” Yes even the name was famous enough, the last name that was, of true Scottish arms.

Kairi tilted her head, standing with on arm around the captain's waist, her eyes on the other girl

“Freedom. Ma daddy ain’t the type to let his yun oot. Ah used to betray him all the time. He hates the sea ye see, and ah love it.” Debbie spoke as she moved her head back to Lekeb as she wondered if this would become such a big deal with her being royality. She had nothing more waiting for her in Falkirk or in Port Royale – none of her old friends were there. Elizabeth, William or Kairi… [hehe, she ain’t seen Kairi yet - considering Kairi's position, it shouldn't take that long.]

Debbie smiled softly and shook her head. “Nah, daddy’s too busy with work, momma couldnae care a’less and Lip… well lets just say dear brother’s left for sea himself.” She heard that voice and a smile crossed her lips as she turned up to see Kairi. “Well this un, ain’t heard that voice in a while. Ah’m fairing well, Kairi.” She grinned. “And yerself?”

“Ye know me, cannae escape the grieving. Ah really messed up… really.” Her eyes looked to the planks of wood by her feet as she thought of him once more. Debbie blew strands of hair from her eyes. "Glad te see ye fairin' perfect."
